Meet Our New Pastor
Alcide “Al” Cage, grew up in Baton Rouge, LA, and was raised in a home that taught God existed, and to make it to heaven, a person needed to live a “good” life. A good life involved attending church services, respecting authority figures, not breaking the laws of the land, and treating everyone with dignity and respect.
It was not until Al was headed to college that he began to realize that God desired to have a personal relationship with him. For the first time, he understood the need to confess he was a sinner, repent, and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He then began to pursue a growing relationship with Christ and experienced the powerful fellowship of the Holy Spirit as comforter and guide. His relationship with the Lord reflects the impact of bible study, an increasing prayer life, and life application of scripture.
Al grew in knowledge of God’s plan for his life; he married Terri while earning an engineering degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Al and Terri are blessed to have three sons, Colin, Drew, and Ethan. Al has enjoyed a diverse professional career, including working at Alcoa for over 30 years. During that time Al held various positions including serving as Director of Procurement for the Primary Business Unit. Al is committed to serving his community through a number of civic and volunteer organizations.
Throughout his life, Al has served and ministered in many various ways in the local church. Al believes the essence of his testimony is that, “God is constantly at work to gather His elect to Himself, using divinely ordained means, which are specific for each individual. With great awareness, I grew to understand that while I was ‘yet a sinner’ (Rom. 5:8), God was at work bringing me into a relationship with Him based on love and grace.”
Current Ministry
Al has a passion to see people come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior – and then to help them grow in their faith to become mature believers. God has a unique place and role for every believer, and Al finds great joy in serving with others to accomplish great things for the Kingdom of God. Over the years, he has had the blessing of serving Christ in many capacities. Currently, his focus is:
- Oversight of Community Care Ministries
- Biblical Counseling Ministry
- Deacon, Benevolence, and Mercy Ministries
- Community Partnerships
- Community Special Events
