Making Disciples Who Make Disciples
Group Life – Connect in Community
ABF – Adult Bible Fellowship
ABFs provide on-campus Sunday morning groups for church members and guests to attend. The ABF atmosphere is more like a traditional Sunday School and meets year round, breaking for 2 weeks at Christmas and 1 at Easter. ABFs focus on biblical teaching and member care. In addition, each ABF supports 2 of West Park’s supported missionaries around the world. All are welcome to join these groups at any time, and the groups may range in size from 15-100 or more.
Growth Groups
The heart of West Park’s discipleship ministry occurs in Growth Groups. Ranging in size from 5-15, these groups offer a relational environment in which the leader intentionally guides each member in the discipleship process. One outcome of such groups must be the reproduction of leaders and new groups. As such, Growth Groups are not intended to be lifelong groups but require a commitment by members for a specific time period. These groups will help members to connect to Christ (healthy spiritual growth), community (healthy relational growth), and cause (healthy gospel ministry involvement). Although primarily meeting in homes off campus, Growth Groups may meet at any time and place.
New Life Training
West Park offers a regular series of core classes designed to equip you as a believer in the ministry of Christ (Ephesians 4:12). These classes are designed for a lead teacher to instruct in a relational, classroom setting on a topic relevant to either leadership in discipleship ministry or living the Christian life as a follower of Christ. All classes will be offered on rotation throughout the week. These classes are optional, except in the case of future leaders. Any who desire to lead a West Park Growth Group must attend the requisite leadership track.
