Good News

December 6, 2015 by Lauren Kappel

GoodNews1
Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11

Hallelujah! Such amazing grace was displayed with this good news. This news provides us our only sustaining joy no matter where we find ourselves today. Even in the midst of tragedy and suffering I’m reminded the coming of the Lord Jesus is the good news that we must meditate on.

Oh Father, thank you for the hope we have because of the birth of our Savior. Please melt my distracted heart to the realities of this “good news” and awaken me to understand the magnitude of it. Help me no matter what circumstance I’m in to see my need for a Savior today. Thank you for your abundant grace. Thank you for sending your Son to pay the penalty of our sin. You give us joy in the midst of tragedy because you gave us everlasting life with You. Amen.

In our world good is not usually the adjective that precedes news anymore. Thank you for centering me on the good news today.
