Annual Retreat

“Deployed for the Cause”

God made men to serve others. To protect the weakest among us. To fight for what’s right and true. But we often need to be reminded that God put us here to do those things and to encourage each other to stick to it.

That’s why on November 10-11, 2017, men of all ages are invited to retreat to the Smoky Mountains for an evening of encouragement and rest before being deployed on Saturday morning to serve some veterans back near our church.

What’s the connection? November 11th is Veterans day, the day of the year when we give special attention and appreciation to those who serve or have served our country with the armed forces. One of the ways West Park men can thank them is by serving those veterans around us in very practical ways.

Our retreat theme is Deployed for the Cause, a reminder that the Lord Jesus Christ has called us, saved us and now sends us out on His mission to give our lives and serve others in His name.

We’ll spend Friday night at the Wayfloy Christian Retreat Center in Gatlinburg where we’ll be encouraged by teaching from pastors and other godly men from our church. Friday night dinner, a hearty breakfast the next morning and then lunch will be catered by Tee Dedrick on site. Our focus Saturday will be giving our time and effort to honor and serve the veterans in and around our church.

Plan on joining us that weekend and be Deployed for the Cause!
