Awana

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15

Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed based on 2 Timothy 2:15. We believe that Awana is the best discipleship program for kids because they learn spiritual disciplines at an early age that last through eternity. The key focus of Awana Ministry is Scripture memorization, understanding, and application. The Awana handbooks clearly present the Gospel at an age-appropriate level and initially focus on establishing a personal relationship between each clubber and Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Awana Classes

Puggles | 2 year olds

Puggles enjoy playtime, songs, simple crafts, and snacks. Age-appropriate lessons are taught with colorful teaching cards, finger puppets, and music. Take-home cards will help parents reinforce what the Puggles learn.
Parents must remain on campus if their child is enrolled in this class.

Cubbies | 3 year olds

Cubbies enjoy puppets, games, and scripture memorization. It’s never too early to hide God’s word in your heart. Parents are the key ingredients to this program as you help your child learn verses each week.
Parents must remain on campus if their child is enrolled in this class.

Sparks | K-2nd Grade

Sparks enjoy game time, scripture memorization, council times, and service projects.

Truth & Training | 3rd-5th Grade

The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach 3rd-5th grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. At Awana, you’ll find a closely-knit group of students who share a passion for growing in their daily walk with the Lord through the study of His Word, encouraging one another, and holding one another accountable.

If you have a 6th grader who would like to finish their 4th book, you have several options to reach that goal:

  • Your clubber can stay in our Awana program and then move up in the 7th grade.
  • Your clubber can finish two books in the 5th grade simultaneously.
  • Your clubber who is in 6th grade can say their section to a leader at 6:15 pm and then go over to the Student Ministry in The Hub.

Awana Volunteers

If you are a parent or someone that is interested in serving kids in Awana, we have a place for you! Contact us and we’ll get you the information that you need to volunteer in this vital yet very fun ministry that disciples young kids to walk with Christ. You will receive training and will need to submit to a background check for your safety as well as the safety of our kids. You do not have to attend West Park to serve; you need to be a believer in Christ (have submitted your life to Him and are walking with the Lord), receive training, and complete a background check.
