Our Beliefs

As a family of Believers in the Body of Christ, we hold to the following beliefs:

God

There is one God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the creator and ruler of the universe.

Jesus

Jesus is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, was wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life, died in our place as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose bodily from the grave, and ascended into Heaven. Jesus will physically return to earth and reign as King over it.

Holy Spirit

God the Holy Spirit is our comforter and guide who lives in every believer, exalts Jesus Christ, convinces unbelievers of their need for salvation, and draws people to God.

Bible

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, is without error, and is the sole authority for life and faith.

Humans

Human beings are a special creation of God, made in His image. Because of the sin of Adam, the first man, all humans are sinners and need salvation.

Salvation

Salvation is a free gift, available to all. It is an individual, personal decision one makes when he or she comes to realize the need for Christ to save him or her from the penalty of sin. Salvation is received through repentance and trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life.

Assurance

Every person who is truly saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Christ’s Return

Jesus Christ will literally return to earth.

Eternity

People who die in their sins without Christ spend eternity in Hell. Those who die with their sins forgiven through Christ spend eternity in Heaven.

Baptism

Baptism is the picture of Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. It is an act of obedience that identifies you with the One to whom you have committed your life. Baptism does not earn salvation. The word “baptize” means “to immerse,” and we believe baptism by immersion illustrates a believer’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

Church

The Church is the Body of Christ with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head. The local church is a body of believers serving Christ together.

Prayer

Every believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord’s Supper

The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby believers remember the death of the Lord Jesus and anticipate His second coming. The bread is symbolic of His body, and the juice represents His blood.
