Quiet – something not often found in everyday life. Between household duties, careers, families, and relationships, there are very few opportunities to even find a quiet time; noise pollution is 24/7. Only in quietness can we think and contemplate important topics, plans, or ideas. We usually ‘choose’ to multi-task and accomplish many things, leaving quietness behind in our daily activities.
In Psalm 46:10, God tells us to, “Be still and know that I am God.” Only a quiet heart can give 100 percent attention to one thing at a time. God leaves this task for us to do.
What percent of your day is spent in a focused, quiet frame of mind, totally given to prayer and thoughts on our Lord? …OUCH…
During this busy, commercialized time of Advent, we MUST DELIBERATELY create quiet space in our lives to focus and prepare our hearts for Jesus’ birth. Paul’s quest was “to know Him and the power of His Resurrection” (Philippians 3:10). What are your priorities as you seek the Lord?
Thank you for the reminder to stay still before the Lord. It is so very hard in this season to focus on doing just that.

I read your post this morning, and it stopped me in my multi-tasking steps! I spend so much time trying to get things done, that my quiet time gets shoved aside. The urgent tasks of the every day overtake the essential….quiet time listening to the Lord. Thank you for this reminder today, and every day.
