We are pleased to announce that on October 19, 2025, Pastor Jake Bishop was officially called to serve as the next Lead Pastor of West Park Baptist Church, effective January 1, 2027.
Throughout 2026, Pastor Sam Polson and Pastor Jake Bishop will jointly serve in the role of Lead Pastor, providing a year of shared leadership to ensure a prayerful, unified, and seamless transition.
We give thanks to God for His faithful guidance and for the spirit of unity He has provided our church throughout this process. We invite you to join us in celebrating this important milestone and in praying for Pastor Jake, his family, and our church body as we move forward into this next season of ministry together.

Church Family,
It is my privilege to announce that the Members overwhelmingly supported (by 98%) the adoption of the Elder’s recommendation that Pastor Jake Bishop be called to the role of Lead Pastor of West Park Baptist Church, effective January 1, 2027. We so appreciate each respective Member’s prayerful and obedient participation in this transition process, and we are grateful to God for His revealed will for West Park. It is only by unity with and obedience to Christ that West Park can be the light it is called to be in our community. And, as evidenced by the Members’ overwhelming support, we look forward to walking in that unity behind the leadership of Pastor Jake, who, in no small part, depends on and is gifted with the support of his wonderful wife, Alli. Continue to pray for them as they accept this mantle of leadership for our good.
Please also continue to be in prayer for Pastor Sam and Sue as they look toward and plan for the transition of their roles in our fellowship. And, remember to do so with grateful hearts for the leadership they have provided and will continue to provide our local church.
Finally, be in prayer for one another as we take this next step in following the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ, in reaching this community for His glory and the glory of our great God!
